Welcome to Aussie Dances
Hi
It’s Ian McKenzie here from Aussie Dances. At Aussie Dances we felt there was a need for regular dances In Brisbane with live music like there was when we were younger.
We currently have dances every Friday night at the Mt Gravatt Bowls Club, and some Saturday nights at different venues around Brisbane.. We have our loyal regulars who have been with us from the start, and every week we get new starters who are enjoying the ambience of our Aussie Dances, even for those who feel that from a dancing point of view they have two left feet.
This web site that you are currently perusing is a supplement to our main web site, which you can access by clicking on the link. On that web site we have given a page to each of the many prominent Dance Studios that have formed a strategic alliance with us, and the various performers who provide the great entertainment and live music at our dances.
Aussie Dances main web site is comprehensive and updated at least weekly. The site currently has 130 pages. That is one of the reasons that this site has come into being. One of the purposes of this site is to summarise the information on our main web site. In doing this we have frequent links back to the main site for additional information to be obtained if required. This site also has additional information which will not be found on our main web site.
Below I shall list the various topics that will be covered on this site. Each one of these will have its own page on the site.
Regards
and
Happy Dancing
Ian McKenzie

On the 10 July, 2008, I made some additions to this web site. There are two sub-domains the first is a chat room, and the second is a forum or bulletin board.
What is a chat room? A chat room is a facility where in real time you can “chat” (via text messages) with any one else who happens to be in the chat room at the same time. Many web sites have chat facilities in which there may be literally hundreds of people involved at any one time. That will not be the case with Aussie Dances Chat room. It is a sub-domain of this web site, and most of the time, it is expected that there will be no one in the chat room at all. So, it will be an ideal facility to have a private chat with your friends if you wish. You will need however to arrange to go to the chat room at the same time.
For your first time in the chat room you will need to register.
To enter the chat room, just click on the appropriate link below.
What is a forum, or bulletin board? A forum or bulletin board is a place where you can leave written messages and/or respond to messages that have already been left. Once again you will need to register to be involved, but once you are, you can participate in the discussion of topics which are already listed, of if you like you can start new discussions on other topics. Any one can join in, but there are “ethical” rules to be followed. I know that all Aussie Dancers will be “nice”. On the off chance that others find the bulletin board, and those people are “not so nice”, I am able to delete messages and even ban people from the site if that ever becomes necessary.
I hope Aussie Dancers enjoy using both the chat room facility and the bulletin board.
Happy dancing and chatting
Ian
